Hungarian Noodle Bake
(Prep Time: 45 minutes. Serves 4-6)
4 oz. fine noodles
¼ cup chopped onions
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup cottage cheese (2% fat)
1 cup sour cream (reduced fat, or use fat-free plain yogurt)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
dash of hot pepper sauce
½ teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon poppy seed
1 teaspoon dill seed
paprika to taste
Parmesan cheese, grated
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Grease a 10x6" casserole dish. Cook the noodles according to package directions, drain, and set aside.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the onions and garlic in butter until tender. Combine the noodles, onion mixture, cottage cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire, pepper sauce, salt, pepper, poppy seed and dill seed, then transfer to the casserole dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Sprinkle with paprika and Parmesan cheese.
